by Kim Hutchinson,

During a recent conversation with my higher self, I received an unexpected message. She told me to “own my body”. I spent the day wondering what exactly that meant.

Honoring Your Body’s Wisdom

I still was mulling over the advice when Steve started telling me about a friend’s experience in hospital. While waiting on lab test results, she realized that the true source of her ailment was emotional and that she could treat it herself using her body’s self-healing abilities. With this sudden realization came an equally sudden amelioration of symptoms. She told the doctor she no longer required help. The physician was skeptical, and disinclined to let her leave. He finally conceded, but insisted she take the prescription he wrote for her. She took it, but did not have it filled. Just as her body’s intuition told her, she was able to self-heal and is doing well today.

While listening to this account I had an “A-ha!” moment. Our friend heeded her body’s wisdom and its natural self-healing abilities, instead of giving all her power to the doctor and his prescribed pharmaceuticals. While I am not advocating eschewing medical care, or disregarding your doctor’s recommendations, I am saying it is important to honor your body’s wisdom. You know your body better than anyone else, doctors included. Don’t be in a rush to give away your rights, power or wisdom just because the person you’re dealing with is in a position of ‘authority’. YOU are the ultimate authority when it comes to your body. This insight led to me pondering the many times throughout my life when authority figures – most, well-intentioned; others, not so much – overrode my body’s wisdom.

I also came to realize how many of my own actions caused my body harm, and how my behaviour and value system were the products of indoctrination. I was programmed to behave this way.

How I Disconnected From My Body

In the following life overview, I’m going to demonstrate how I went from having healthy body awareness and self-healing abilities, to being disconnected, unhealthy and feeling powerless.

Childhood
I was born with a strong sense of what was in my highest good. I knew what foods I liked; what I wanted to wear; how much sleep I required, and so on. My body had a strong aversion (read: allergies) to all things synthetic. I also knew how to spontaneously self-heal. Just the thought of going to the doctor was all it took for me to feel better. In fact, almost every time I arrived in the doctor’s office, I was completely asymptomatic.

Teens
My early teen years began to separate me from my body. Like most kids, I went through awkward phases and growing pains. Despite that, my intuition stayed strong, and my health was excellent. Still, there was pressure to fit in, and to be pretty. The objectification of my appearance caused me to start to separate from my body.

20s
It was at this point that I stopped owning my body. In an effort to be thin and attractive, I ingested a daily diet of Lean Cuisines, ‘light’ microwave popcorn and Diet Coke. I spent hours daily reapplying my make-up mask; moussing, curling, blow-drying and shellacking my dyed locks; lacquering my fingers and toes, and slathering my skin with self-tanner, perfumes and scented lotions. No wonder I developed allergies and nursed bronchitis six months of every year! My body took punishing daily abuse. I never felt at peace with it. Why would I even want to own it?

My body-soul connection was muted by daily stress and by the boatload of chemicals I was ingesting and slathering on my body. I was straining under the weight of societal expectation and a desperate need to fit in and be loved.

30s
Thankfully, my soul kicked in and got me back on my path. I came to discover great freedom in being my perfectly imperfect self. I dedicated myself to mental and emotional healing; self-help, and seeking my soulmate. When I was in contact with my soul, everything was better, easier, and more natural. I was in the flow with my body.

Still, old unhealthy belief systems lurked below the surface. So, too, did the damage of 15 years of yo-yo dieting, coupled with stored chemical toxins and suppressed emotional pain. When that surfaced, it was of Vesuvian proportions. The fallout caused me to balloon in size so dramatically that I no longer recognized myself, nor connected with my body. As my frame expanded, I came to deeply resent my body. I even stopped caring for it properly after several humiliating experiences with the medical system.

40s
Spirit came to the rescue again! My healing abilities awoke, and then my husbands’ followed suit. We studied energy healing, and practiced on each other, building our body awareness and reclaiming forgotten higher wisdom. This was the dawning of me listening to, and loving, my body.

I started listening to my body’s needs and cutting down on all the toxins I was eating and absorbing through my skin. This included mental and emotional ‘garbage’.

Since that time, I’ve spent a great deal of time reconnecting with, and honoring, my body. I no longer count calories; I eat clean, healthy foods. I also stopped trying to mute my discomfort with food or alcohol. I don’t apologize anymore for being so sensitive and I’m no longer faking my way through life as a means of overcoming and disguising my introversion.

What I’ve Learned

The key, I’ve realized, to owning my body is to stop accepting the limitations of belief. We are taught, from cradle to grave, to give away our power. This includes power over one’s own body. We are conditioned to think of ourselves as flawed mortal beings with limited power to change or ameliorate our circumstances, yet nothing could be farther from the truth!

Take my weight, for instance. I started dieting when I was 19. I’ve also been to numerous gyms. These approaches to weight loss have not proven successful for me. Why not? The insight from my soul told me that I was still not fully connected to my body. I didn’t own it, and therefore I was separated from its intrinsic self-healing abilities. Where do these self-healing abilities come from? My soul. And does the soul need to diet or exercise? Of course not! By believing that I could only lose weight if I ate a certain diet, and if I exercised regularly, I was cutting myself off from my soul’s power.

In that moment I had an epiphany!

My body is an extension of consciousness. I need only shift my belief system to reshape my body.

Eureka! Therein lays true nature of owning your body. It means listening to your own wisdom, and calling on your higher self to channel loving, divine energy into your body to self-heal. It also means not giving away your power to limiting beliefs, no matter how seemingly logical they appear. When you reclaim sovereignty over your body, you take back all rights over it, including what you believe about it.  And if you chose to believe anything is possible where your body is concerned, then you are opening yourself up to the miraculous.

Believing In Expanded Possibilities

If you are struggling with body issues, ailments and pain, then fully owning your body may just be the magic elixir you’re seeking. What would happen if we all took back ownership of our bodies, and stopped buying into all the belief systems that we’ve acquired? Take, for example, the idea of disease being hereditary. Imagine if we could completely delete the concept from our collective consciousness. How many people would experience spontaneous healing? Or, take the idea of aging away from us, and see how many people suddenly revivify.

You might argue these issues have very real, scientifically-proven physical causes, or that we’re being systematically poisoned through such things as chemtrails in our sky, GMOs in our food and fluoride in our water. But what if we chose to believe those things would not hurt us? Would that not give us immunity? OK, you’d have to be pretty darned sure of said immunity in order to guarantee its effectiveness, but isn’t it at least possible?

Your beliefs define your reality. What you believe is possible, or impossible, defines the parameters of your world.

Just look at what’s happening with the ascension process. We’re told our 3D carbon-based bodies are transforming into 5D crystalline light bodies, and that this miraculous transformation is happening as a result of our expanding consciousness. Because our collective belief system is changing so too are our bodies and our world. Here is a prime example of how consciousness creates, and alters, form.

Returning to my soul’s message, I can now appreciate what she was conveying. The message was one of great importance, not only to me but to you, and to the whole world. We need to stop waiting for ascension to magically transform us, and to actively make that transition happen by believing in it. And so, I invite you to join me in this time of miraculous transformation…

  • Own your body.
  • Expand your possibilities.
  • Believe in the miraculous.
  • Release all limitations.

Now is the time we’ve been waiting for, and we are the ones we’ve been waiting for.

HAPPY ASCENSION!
