Fear can be a major obstacle for beginners when it comes to practicing astral projection. While it is natural to be scared of the unknown, it often becomes a serious problem that stands on the way of success. Fortunately, there are simple techniques that help overcome fear of astral projection.

Be curious

It is important to realize that there is no way to get rid of the fear before you experience your first astral projection. The truth is, it will take you more than one successful projection to eliminate the fear completely. What you can do, however, is to overcome fear by facing it directly. In order to do it, you have to be more curious of the unknown than scared of it.Curiosity is the best motivation to face any kind of fear, especially this one. Be positive and curious about astral projection, because it is a truly amazing experience.

Be skeptical

There is plenty of information about astral projection available on the internet. Just as with any other topic, try to be skeptical when reading about it. Keep in mind that in the era of the internet, everybody can write an e-book or spread a myth on a forum. It is a good idea to base your understanding of this phenomenon solely on personal experience. Remember, physiologically, astral projection is no different than dreaming. If you are not afraid of falling asleep, you should not be afraid of astral projecting.

Be positive

While astral projection is considered to be a safe experience, it can be scary at times. Remember, that your mind is in control of the projection, that’s why it is important to keep your mind positive. You should avoid watching scary movies and experiencing negative emotions before you attempt projection. The practice of astral projection might involve sleep paralysis, which might be unpleasant only if your mind is full of negative thoughts and scary memories from horror movies. It is a good idea to practice some form of meditation or relaxation before you attempt astral projection. It will clear your mind from all the negativity and give you the right attitude of peace that will ensure a positive experience.

Avoid projecting in the dark

One of the reasons why astral projection might seem scary is because most people attempt to project at night. Beginners often find it terrifying to project in the dark. A room with no light in it seems like a perfect environment for all the fears to come out. It is easy to imagine things in a complete darkness. The truth is, it is much easier to project in the morning. A room filled with light will make you feel much safer, which will significantly lower your fear.
