Knowing Nothing

I finally told the universe that I hated her, and that she causes far more pain than happiness. I told her for me to understand the indifference in this world was far more than my mind desires, and I feel little comfort being here. Her reply was quick and certain, as if it had been repeated many times. She said; your consciousness will hate me while you are here, this I can accept, for your body will suffer the pain, and your mind will grieve my cause; but your soul will love me deeper.

The universe is being invaded. The singularity is being invaded by nothingness. Life is coming to this world in a way we cannot see because to us, it is nothing. It is the absence of something. It is the opposite of what we can see, touch, hear, taste or smell. To us, it is nothing, but to the singularity, it is an invader, a propagator of life and destroyer of a timeless world. This life we observe is the symbiotic relationship between something and the nothing containing it.
In its most basic form, there are only two things in this universe we can observe. There is the something we can measure and the nothing we cannot. We can measure our physical universe but we cannot measure the force which causes life in our universe. This is part of the nothing. The nothing cannot be known as the something can, but with imagination, it can be realized by the affect it has. The nothing is what is outside of what we can measure. And just as importantly, it is inside as well.
It is the nothing that surrounds the something. We can see this everywhere. It is surrounding our star, it is surrounding our galaxy and it surrounds the universe. It surrounds our body, it surrounds our planet. And in order to complete the surrounding, it is also inside of us. It is your soul and mine. It is that sense of self you cannot measure in our physical world. It is the desire to live that we call nature. This is the nothing completing the surrounding and containment of something.
All of the things we can sense, though absent of physical form, is the nothing that is invading our universe. The singularity is the physical universe and the nothing surrounding it along with the nothing inside of it; are the forces shaping and molding it, just as life shapes and molds the surface of this planet. The nothing is the force of gravity and polarity. It is what is between the stars and at the same time, it is what is inside of them. It creates the motion of the stars and galaxies.
Your soul is the nothingness inside of your body. Nothingness is the life force inside of plants and animals. It completes the invasion of something by the nothing. The inside nothingness completes the containment of something. It is the death surrounding life and the life surrounding death. Nothingness gives us time; and it contains the past and the future.
All of these things are the nothing we can sense only by the affects they have on something. There are so many ways to view this nothing, and even more ways to ignore it. Nothingness has a special quality because it can be acknowledged and ignored at the same time. We can feel our soul, our sense of self, but then discount it as intelligence created by the physical brain. We can see the space between stars and galaxies but discount it as a vacuum or dark force of gravity or energy.
We have ways of marginalizing this nothing that has invaded our universe. This has been the key to our existence as it keeps us from understanding ourselves. We must remain ignorant of the nothing in order to benefit from its invasion of something as it creates the time and experience for our soul to grow using this physical world. We are actors in a play but only able to act because we think it is real. If we knew it was only a play, we would get stage fright and ruin the show. This is like realizing you are in a dream and waking up. Who can be aware of the play and still act as if they have no idea? Is this the level of awareness we are to reach or strive for? Or, is it of no consequence for the soul to see this life from a higher perspective?
I often think about human knowledge and understanding of our purpose, our containment, our importance. At the same time, I think of when a dog looks into the water and barks when it sees its reflection, or when a cat looks at their reflection in a mirror and starts swiping at it. This reflection cannot be explained to them but yet they are as convinced of another animal opposite them as they are their own existence and everything else that surrounds them.
Is this the level of human understanding when we view the universe and the metaphysical? Are we dogs looking at the sliding glass door when we peer into the night sky and examine all this light coming to us from other stars and galaxies? Is it possible for us to truly understand the world which contains us?
