The Secret Of The Spiritual Masters

How long has it been? Now that I am forced to stay home, it’s kind of nice. I used to stay home only for the minimal required time. Sleep. Shower. Dress. It was a place that I liked, but I only really used it to keep my stuff. My life was outside of the physical structure, running from place to place, always knowing home was available, but rarely giving it a second thought.
Sound familiar? I’m not talking about “the virus”, the stay at home orders, the masks, disinfectant wipes, or social distancing. True, all this craziness has gently “forced” me home or maybe it has simply nudged me, but I am talking about our true home, our spiritual home, not that physical box of wood and walls we call home.
Our physical world is an illusion of our own making. In our busy lives we tend to forget our True Selves. We take it for granted. Understanding who we truly are can wait. Bills to pay, beers to drink, friends to hang out with. Whenever my grandfather wanted to slip out for a while he would say that he had to see a man about a dog. We all do it and that’s OK. It’s one of the reasons we came to this rock, but staying home spiritually and going to see that man about a dog are not mutually exclusive.
It’s predicable isn’t it? Once again I am talking about yoga, union, joining our spiritual and physical selves. The ultimate practice of yoga is a moving meditation. It is finding that place where at all times, regardless of whether you are in that perfect lotus pose surrounded by incense or at the local hangout seeing that man about a dog, you are consciously and fully connected to your True Self. It is only then that you are complete.
Isn’t that the real reason we are here? To learn how to be complete beings in this world of illusion and chaos? Now, during this forced time out, is the time to get serious about who you are and what you want out of this life. Set your intention. Go within and connect with your True Self. The more you do it, the easier it becomes. In time you will be able to connect with Spirit as soon as you set your focus. Make it second nature. Connect with your Higher Self every time you are faced with a decision. It doesn’t matter how insignificant it may seem, give it to your Higher Self. Only then are you living to your highest and best potential. Only then are you complete and living the life that you are meant to live.
Spiritual Masters
Try it for one week. As you go Home, away from your monkey mind and into your True Self, your perception of the world will change. You will begin to see the Light in all things and understand the Oneness of it all.
This is the secret of the spiritual masters throughout time. They were Home 24/7, regardless of where they found themselves, even at the local hangout seeing that man about a dog.
Now we are doing yoga….

Who are the spiritual masters?
Spiritual masters are individuals who have attained a high level of spiritual awareness and enlightenment, and who are recognized as leaders, guides, and teachers in the spiritual community. They are believed to possess a deep understanding of the nature of reality, and to have achieved a state of unity with the divine source of all creation.
Spiritual masters may come from a variety of different religious or spiritual traditions, or they may be self-taught individuals who have developed their own unique spiritual practice. Some examples of well-known spiritual masters from various traditions include:
-
Buddha: the founder of Buddhism, who achieved enlightenment through meditation and taught the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path.
-
Lao Tzu: the founder of Taoism, who wrote the Tao Te Ching and taught about the Tao, or the way of nature.
-
Rumi: a Sufi poet and mystic who taught about the path of love and the unity of all creation.
-
Paramahansa Yogananda: a Hindu guru who brought the teachings of yoga to the West and founded the Self-Realization Fellowship.
In addition to these historical figures, many also consider contemporary spiritual masters, teachers and leaders to be spiritual masters, such as Eckhart Tolle, Deepak Chopra, and Wayne Dyer. Ultimately, the concept of a spiritual master is subjective and depends on one’s own spiritual beliefs and practices.
