Blesseed Lughnasadh and Happy Super Full Moon in Aquarius! Lughnasadh/Lammas began at sundown yesterday, on Monday, July 31, 2023 in the Northern Hemisphere, and continues until sunset today, on Tuesday, August 1. This Full Moon at just over 9 degrees of Aquarius becomes exact today, at 2:31 PM New York time (18:31 GMT) on Tuesday, August 1.

As a reminder a Super Full Moon (or SuperMoon for short) occurs when the moon is physically closer to the Earth than usual, thus amplifying its effects.

LUGHNASADH

Lughnasadh is a Gaelic festival marking the beginning of harvest season. It is one of the eight Pagan threshold festivals, occurring approximately halfway between the Summer Solstice and Autumn Equinox. It is named after Lugh, the Irish God of harvests, skills, trade, war, justice, and kingship. It coincides with the Christian holiday Lammas, which is celebrated in England, and some other English-speaking countries.

Lughnasadh was traditionally a time when Pagans would practice Handfasting: tying hands together as a symbol of engagement. Some would have ‘trial weddings’ on Lughnasadh, where they would try out the marriage out until the following Lughnasadh.

A great way to celebrate Lughnasadh is to bake bread! Some Pagans bake a face of the ‘Corn God’ into the bread, then symbolically eat it!

Eating corn would be another great way to celebrate Lughnasadh! Make sure it’s organic, though.

AQUARIUS SUPERMOON

Aquarius is a fixed air sign that is associated with equality, group consciousness, technology, and the Higher Mind. It is represented symbolically by the ‘water bearer’–a healer that pours healing waters onto the land to reach everyone and everything. It is an optimistic sign that reminds us of our highest potential, especially in groups, and as one collective human race.

We are reminded that even when it seems like we are all alone, we really aren’t, because we are all spiritual beings having a human experience–and we are inseparable from the collective consciousness of our human race on this planet.

Aquarius is the ruler of the 11th House: the House of Friends. This house rules over how we relate to groups and includes the themes of friendship, collective mindsets, social circles and colleagues.

With the sun now in its home sign of Leo—where it is joined by the Retrograde Venus–we are seeing the Leo-Aquarius polarity play out strongly. The influences of the sun and Venus traveling through the masculine, fixed fire sign of Leo causes us to want to naturally step into our most charismatic, beautiful, and talented selves—the best version of the ego-self that we can present to the world.

The opposition between the sun and moon creates the opportunity to explore the balance between self and other, as well as between self and the group. Leo the Lion personifies the need of the self to express through the creation of an ego.

Ego is not at its core a bad thing; rather, it is the vehicle for which the soul gets to experience an earthly personality. That energy is opposed by the moon in Aquarius, which is showing us how we can experience being a part of a group and a collective.

The Aquarian energy requires teamwork to really thrive. We are all individuals on individual healing journeys, but we are also one collective on a collective Ascension journey. It is not possible to separate yourself from the whole.

How are you contributing to the healing of the planet and of the human race on a daily basis? The more you are contributing, then naturally the more whole you are going to feel, because you will be fulfilling the exact mission you came here to realize.

Do you make time on a daily basis to do something nice for someone else, or to say something nice to a fellow human? Do you make it a habit to wish people around you blessings of healing or happiness? Are you a good listener? Are you willing to hear others’ perspectives? Do you donate money or time to help those in need at least once in awhile?

Unlike Leo, where the inflated ego is celebrated, Aquarius encourages the deflation of egos so that the many can merge into the one. This is the energetic trajectory of our planet, as we are in the planetary Age of Aquarius.

This Full Moon chart contains a tense T-Square, as the sun and moon both square Jupiter in Taurus. This brings an element of ego and excess to this chart; over the next two weeks (and to an extent, over the next 28 days) people will be more likely to be egoic, arrogant, and greedy.

When you feel your ego flaring up, try to step out of it and into the lighter, softer, soul aspect of self. Also, watch your wallet; it will be far to easier to make irresponsible purchases during this time. Be wise.

Jupiter does make a very nice aspect, though—trining Mars in Virgo. This brings the focus to the physical body; it’s a great time to exercise, dance, do yoga, or anything physical. It’s also the perfect time to begin (or recommit yourself) to any health routines (like supplements, programs, etc.)

NORTH NODE SQUARES PLUTO: INTENSE TRANSFORMATION

The North Node, exalted in the final degree of Aries, squares the Retrograde Pluto on this Full Moon. This is creating an intense wave of transformational energy. If you’ve been feeling a push from within to let go, transform, and evolve, the energy of this Full Moon will augment that energy within you.

It’s as if the Universe is telling us that it’s time to step up and boldly step onto our Highest Path. If you have gotten off your Highest Path in any way, your soul is likely going to be creating both opportunities and obstacles, in order to challenge you to step into that Highest Path!

If you feel you’ve gotten off path, ask yourself and journal on these questions:

Deep down, what do I feel my path is supposed to look like/feel like?
Why have I gone off path? What am I afraid of?

What do I have to let go of to get back on my path?
Is there a part of me that is OK going on without the things that I know I must let go of? How do I access that courageous part of me more? How do I let go of fear?
In what ways do I know that I need to radically transform?

What does it feel like my soul is calling in for me at this time?

As a general rule, remember the more time that you spend accessing your wiser self (the Higher Self is a pretty good term for this part of us), the easier it will be for you to step out of fear and into where you’re meant to be (your destiny).

The more activities that you undertake on a daily basis that put you into that elevated state, the easier it will be to spend more time in that state. So much of spiritual evolution/Ascension is in the day-to-day, 6th House stuff.

Like, did you do your yoga practice or meditation today or not? How did doing it or not doing it affect your state of consciousness the rest of the day? This is especially important to pay attention to now, with Mars in Virgo.

Here are the other important aspects to be aware of in this Full Moon chart:

Mercury opposes Saturn: Mercury in Virgo opposes the Retrograde Saturn in Pisces. With this aspect, we are trying our best to balance being detailed with being creative. It’s a great time to readdress projects that we have put on the back burner.

Neptune sextiles Pluto: The Retrograde Neptune, at home in Pisces, sextiles the Retrograde Pluto in Capricorn, giving us a powerful opportunity to explore the spiritual realms, utilize our intuition, and connect with those on the other side.

Venus squares Uranus: The Retrograde Venus, in expressive Leo, squares Uranus (the ruler of Aquarius) in Taurus, bringing unexpected things in romance. You could hear from a past partner, or even attempt to reconnect with them on a romantic level. It’s also a great time to change your aesthetics or style in any way (e.g. clothing, hair, makeup, jewelry, etc.)

LION’S GATE

We are in the Lion’s Gate Portal! We could say that the Lion’s Gate begin with the Galactic New Year celebration on July 26, continuing through about August 12. The True Lion’s Gate day is this Thursday, August 3, as that day is the true heliacal rising of Sirus-A with the sun over the Pyramids of Giza. Traditionally, this day marked the beginning of the flood season down the Nile in Egypt, which would mean crops could be harvested soon after. It was a celebration of abundance.

August 8 is also another important day during the Lion’s Gate portal, as 8-8 represents abundance and infinity in numerology.

We have a close connection with the Sirians during this time, as Sirius is very much associated with the sign of Leo. It is a great time to psychically connect with the Pyramids and the Sphinx, as the Sirians helped build the Pyramids.

During the Lion’s Gate portal, it’s a time to give gratitude to all you have, and to visualize all the abundance you want to manifest in your life—both financial and otherwise.
