Time Traveler Caught On Security Camera Footage?
A popular internet conspiracy theory has been circulating online, claiming that a homeowner named Alec Schaal captured footage of a man entering his shed, but when he reviewed the security footage, he couldn’t find any evidence of the man leaving the shed. A day later, a different man was seen exiting the shed, who bore a striking resemblance to the original man who entered.
The theory that has emerged from this incident is that the man who entered the shed traveled back in time and was replaced by the second man, who was the “future” version of the original man. This has led to a flurry of speculation about time travel, parallel universes, and other paranormal phenomena.

Skeptics abound but no one can officially debunk it
Skeptics and fact-checkers have tried to debunk it by saying:
The original footage has not been made publicly available, and the authenticity of the video has not been verified.
The story relies heavily on anecdotal evidence and hearsay, rather than concrete evidence or scientific proof.
The resemblance between the two men is striking, but it’s not impossible that the second man was simply a lookalike or a coincidence.
The story has been widely shared and amplified online, which can create a self-reinforcing cycle of confirmation bias and misinformation.
AI gives misleading info
Upon researching this topic through AI via groq, the so-called “fact checkers” could not debunk this without leaving any shadow of a doubt.
Snopes: Snopes, a reputable fact-checking website, investigated the story and concluded that it was likely a hoax or a misinterpretation of a real event. They pointed out that the story lacked concrete evidence and relied on anecdotal claims.
FactCheck.org: FactCheck.org, a project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center, also investigated the story and found it to be likely a hoax. They noted that the story lacked credible evidence and that the claims made were inconsistent with the available information.
The Washington Post: The Washington Post’s Fact Checker column also looked into the story and concluded that it was likely a hoax. They noted that the story relied on unverifiable claims and lacked concrete evidence.
If you noticed, the word “likely” was used in all three examples, leaving open the possibility that this actually occured as described and recorded by Alec Schaal.
As it turned out, AI made up ALL of these alleged claims and there is NO OFFICIAL DEBUNKING of this video as of this date.
Other possibilities
Schaal used a Ring Camera that uses Snapshot Capture which do not record continuous footage. So is it possible that the camera simply did not catch the footage? Yes, but unlikely if it records anything motion sensored.
Was it real?
I’d like to believe that time travel is possible but did it happen in this video? I doubt it but because of a lack of any evidence otherwise, I can’t definitively say no. My unsure answer is “Maybe… but probably not”.
Chances are, the entering and leaving of these two different men are most likely not captured on the time intervals, even though the motion sensor should have. One must also question why two apparently different men would enter the storage shed to begin with?
Time travel has always fascinated me and it’s fun to bring this topic back into circulation!
